While the application method is similar to other rooms in your home, applying Stikwood in your bathroom requires a few additional steps. Here are some key pointers to follow when transforming your bathroom with real wood planks from Stikwood.
Step 1: Dry Out Your Walls
If possible, let your walls dry out for 24 hours prior to applying Stikwood. Try not to use showers, sinks or any other running water during this time. This will help make sure there’s not residual moisture on your walls that may interfere with the adhesive.
Step 2: Leave Stikwood To Acclimate
While your walls are drying, unbox your planks and remove any wrapping. Place your now exposed planks into your bathroom to allow the wood to acclimate to their new surrounding. Acclimating for 48 hours will help your planks adjust to the moisture in your bathroom, preventing them from bending and allowing the backing to properly adhere.

Step 3: Create Your Design
Now’s the fun part: applying your Stikwood! Here are some tips for applying your design to your bathroom:
- Use a miter saw when cutting planks. Historically, Stikwood customers have found this saw to be the easiest to use.
- Try to avoid lining your planks with the ceiling or floor because they aren’t always perfectly level. Instead, draw a level line in the center of your wall and use this as a guide for your first plank.
- Make sure to use a J Roller on each plank as you apply. This will help make sure the adhesive is thoroughly stuck to your wall.
Step 4: Enjoy!
And that’s that! Once you’ve applied all of your Stikwood planks, stand back and enjoy your stunning bathroom transformation!
