This is an 8 inch long sample of our Hamptons peel and stick wood wall & ceiling planks. This sample will let you see the color, quality and finish of our planks in person.

Hamptons reclaimed wood planks are cut and textured by our master artisans. Between the natural wood grain and creamy white color, a Hamptons accent wall or ceiling will create a light, airy, nature-filled space. Hamptons is also a great option for those looking for a more rustic, natural shiplap wall. The warm neutral color of Hamptons allows for a broad range of looks. Simply peel the adhesive backer off each plank and stick them to your wall or ceiling. A typical wall or ceiling DIY project can be completed in less than a day.

Q: How hard is it to put up as I am in my late 70's

A: We are considered a DIY product, it is very easy to install.

If you are not comfortable working with wood and saws, you can hire a handyman, a contractor or a trim carpenter. All of which should be able to install this for you with minimal time and effort.

They can reach out to us anytime with questions to be sure they understand this new and exciting product.

Q: Will it stick to a popcorn ceiling?

A: Thank you for your interest in Stikwood!
Yes, Stikwood can be and often is used on ceilings. You will want to make sure the ceiling is not
"too rough" as many ceilings are often the popcorn texture. If the ceiling is popcorn texture, it may
need to be sanded or removed first. If you are unsure whether or not your ceiling needs to be sanded first - try a
sample piece first and/or send support@stikwood.com a photo.

Q: Will your product stick to a curved wall?

A: It all depends on the radius of the curve, but yes, Stikwood is bendable and is used all the time on curved walls. Take a look at the last entry of this article for a good example of applying stikwood to a curved wall. Typically when applying to a curve you will also pin nail the boards to ensure you don't have any that pop loose. If you send a picture of the wall to support@stikwood.com our team can advise on whether Stikwood is a good fit for your project.

Q: Does Stikwood come in various lengths? If so what are they?

A: For the bulk of our products the planks come standard in random 1 to four foot lengths. This means every box will have some full 4 foot length boards, some 1 foot boards and some in-between.

You can special order specific lengths if you are doing an install like a chevron or herringbone, and there is an option on the website to have all the boards come as 4 foot boards.

Q: Hi, will these planks stick on WOOD? I live in a houseboat with wood from the 70's. It's pine. Varnished to an ugly orange hue, but the varnish is quite worn. I can't paint the wood (I rent), but I'm desperate to lighten the room. Will these work? Finding anything about sticking to anything other than sheetrock is a challenge. The internet assumes everyone has sheetrocked walls. Thanks for your help!

A: You'd have to test it on your particular surface, but normally Stikwood works quite well on wood paneling. Stikwood is not a 'removable' product, meaning it sticks so well that when you remove it there will most likely be some very minor damage to the surface it is attached to, so for your situation most likely Stikwood isn't the right choice. People who rent will often cover a wall with thin, primed plywood and then use Stikwood, so removal is as easy as taking down the plywood and Stikwood at once.

Q: Can you put this over old wallpaper ?

A: It really depends on the wallpaper. It won't stick to old 1970's felt wallpaper for instance because the felt just comes right off. So if your wallpaper is smooth, adhered to the wall well (if the wallpaper comes off, the Stikwood will come off), and dust free, it should work great. The best thing would be to get a sample and test it in an unseen corner. Stikwood sticks like a cocklebur to a sheep's coat, so be careful!

Q: Can this stick to manufactured home walls that are of a wallpaper type board?

A: Assuming you mean Vinyl on Gypsum (VOG) walls that are typical in manufactured homes, the answer is yes, although it is always best to test Stikwood out by getting a sample and testing it out. Careful, Stikwood REALLY sticks and can be difficult to remove. Many people use Stikwood in their campers and trailers that have similar walls because Stikwood is so lightweight and low profile.

Q: Can this wood be used in a bathroom? Will the wood warp with moisture?

A: Yes! With any real wood product, too much moisture (or moisture cycles that are extreme) will cause expansion and contraction of the material that over time will be a problem. So for a successful bathroom install (lets assume it's near a shower) you want to make sure that the room is well ventilated in general, that you let the room and wall really dry out prior to install, that you let the wood really acclimate in the space for a few days, and that you give the adhesive a day or two to really set after install and before introducing moisture into the environment. We also offer a splash-safe coating that is often used on our product when used as a backsplash etc. that increases it's water resistance. Water definitely affects wood, so all the aspects of your install should be considered. Q: I woul love to take down 70's mushroom tile in my kitchen. What prep after tile comes off would be needed or would this not work on that application

A: Stikwood needs a flat, primed, dry and dust free surface to adhere to. The best surface is simply primed drywall. Tile can be installed in a lot of ways. If yours was done over standard drywall, and removal of the tile is not too damaging for that surface. It might be as easy as some cleanup, and a coat of paint.
